Any voltage reading below 45 volts indicates a bad ficm and will need to be replaced. There are a couple of symtoms that usually lead to a bad ficm. Though when i checked the batteries with a multimeter they would show 12.5 to 12.8 volts drop to 11.6 during injector clatter and then drop as low.

I'm now having a hard start when the truck is cold and warm. Im using a snap on solus scan tool that’s reading no sync, no ficm sync, ficm voltage is 48v when cranking. But the only way to fix it is to pull the crankshaft and either replace the crank or we actually reset the tone ring and tug weld it to the crank in several places.

I did a forscan on it to test icp, ipr and ficm. Secondly, see the condition of the glow plug, icp sensor, cps< ckp, and ficm voltage. Firstly, check the battery condition and ensure the right battery voltage.

Logic board issues range from the widely publicized 'no start' with solid voltage, to 'no start' with 0 volts, to missing horribly, to missing sporadically with temperature, to shutting the truck off due to lost communication with ficm.
